TCMT 110304 208 standard carbide (coated) turning inserts with three cutting edges
T - triangular shape of turnining insert
C - Insert with clearance under main cutting edge (7°)
M - Tolerances and dimensions of carbide turning insert
T - Hole through insert and single sided chipbreaker
11 - Length of cutting edge 11mm
03 - Height (thickness) of insert 3.18mm (from bottom of the insert to the top of the cutting edge)
04 - Nose radius R0.4
208 - ISO Grade M20 - The type of carbide grade and the coating on inserts is originally intended for turning stainless steel, but it also performs when turning other alloys.
Material: ISO grade carbide (tungsten):
For stainless steel M20 (between wear resistance and shock resistance)(See ISO grade tables.)
PVD coating - thinner precise layer coating
Feed speed in mm/rev- 0.1-0.2
Cut depth - 0.5mm - 2.0mm
Cuting speed - 160 - 250m/min
Turning insert feature:
Reliability and long endurance.
Recommended for all purposes and applications.
Tips and Tricks:
For rough turning it is recommended to use inserts with bigger nose radius (like R1.0), so wear, force and heat is distributed over larger surface - which makes inserts more durable.
For finishing it is recommended to use inserts with smaller nose radius (like R0.4), with that we reduce preasure on insert, increase cutting abilities, reduce vibration and we make better finishing surfaces.
