Turning inserts WNMG080408 UK QG7215 - turning tool
WNMG080408 QG 7215 standard carbide (with coating) turning inserts with six cutting edges
W - Hexagon (trigon) (80°) shape of turning insert
N - Insert without free angle (0°) under the main cutting edge
M - Tolerances and dimensions of turning inserts
G - Hole through insert and double sided chipbreaker
08 - Length of cutting edge 8,7mm
04 - Height (thickness) of insert 4.76mm (from bottom of the insert to the top of the cutting edge)
08 - Nose radius R0.8
QG7215 - ISO Grade M20 - The type of carbide grade and the coating on inserts is originally intended for turning stainless steel, but it also performs when turning other alloys.
Material: ISO grade carbide (tungsten):
For stainless steel M20 (between wear resistance and shock resistance)(See ISO grade tables.)
PVD coating - thinner more precise layer coating
Feed speed in mm/rev- 0.1-0.45
Cut depth - 0.5mm - 4.0mm
Cuting speed - 180 - 330m/min
Turning insert feature:
Strong cutting edges reliability in hard cuting conditions and endurance.
Geometry of WNMG turning insert is shaped for strong turning.
Six cutting edges (when used properly, you can use it six times)
Inserts have strongly supported cutting edge.
Recommended for different purposes and applications, especially in case when you need to change cutting edge often.
Tips and Tricks:
For rough turning it is recommended to use inserts with bigger nose radius (like R0.8 - R1.2), so wear, force and heat is distributed over larger surface - which makes inserts more durable.
For finishing it is recommended to use inserts with smaller nose radius (like R0.8 - R0.4), with that we reduce preasure on insert, increase cutting abilities, reduce vibration and we make better finishing surfaces.
